Southgate is a small community comprising of 409 homes, conveniently situated in Carolina Forest. Its prime location offers residents easy access to the beach, local attractions, and the Myrtle Beach international airport.
Southgate sits on approximately 141.696 acres.
Southgate was established on December 12, 1996, by D.R. Horton, Ashley, and Squires. The land on which the community stands was formerly owned by the International Paper Realty Corporation and was surveyed by Technology, Inc.
The homes are available in a range of sizes, they vary from just over 1,000 heated square feet to nearly 2,500 square feet in size.

Residents have expressed their concerns regarding the level of information they receive about the community. The Real Manage Portal is not accessible to renters regarding updates about the neighborhood, and homeowners have experienced delays in obtaining answers to basic inquiries that were previously accessible on the website.
In light of these concerns, we have made the decision to bring back a central point for residents to access community updates, eliminating the need for frequent contact with the management company or the board.
